The Australian government has a special ELICOS student visa designed for students who have intention to undertake one of these courses.

English for Academic Purposes Course
English for Academic Purposes is a specialised course of English language that help prepares students who are intending to enter tertiary education institutions in Australia. This course helps students to acquire the necessary academic literacy to succeed in tertiary education institutions in Australia by developing their skills in:
- Assignment, report and essay writing;
- Academic reading and note-making;
- Communication and interaction in the academic environment activities.
